The Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) is participating in the EU co-funded project DATACROS III, which aims to develop an artificial intelligence tool to enhance cross-border financial investigations against organized crime. Based on technologies such as machine learning, natural language analysis, and data processing, the project leverages new data sources—such as public procurement records and business registries—to detect phenomena of corruption and collusion.
The HCC focuses on using these technologies to detect collusive practices in public procurement. The project is led by Transcrime – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), with the participation of 23 European organizations, including competition authorities, anti-corruption agencies, and academic research teams.
