By its unanimous Decision No. 695/2019, the Chamber of the Hellenic Competition Commission approved, under Greek merger control rules, the proposed acquisition, from Olympia Group Ltd over companies Media Saturn Electronics Hellas Commercial Holding SA and Media-Saturn Griechenland Beteiligungen GmbH, in order that the acquirer gains sole control over the retail stores of electronics and electrical consumer goods that operate under the trademark Media Markt in Greece.
According to the decision, the notified transaction does not raise serious doubts as to its compatibility with competition rules in the relevant markets, primarily in the retail market of electronics and electrical consumer goods but as well in the other markets that the concerned parties operate such as computer hardware, gaming hardware and software, books, toys and stationary material etc.
