By its Decision no 866/2024, adopted on the 18th of November 2024, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC), unanimously approved, pursuant to Article 8 (3) of Greek Law 3959/2011, the notified concentration concerning the acquisition by GEK TERNA SA of sole control over the target business which comprises of the financing, operation and maintenance of the ATTIΚI ODOS motorway.

The HCC, by its decision, concluded that the concentration is not expected to affect the competitive conditions in any of the relevant markets concerned. Therefore, whereas the concentration falls within the scope of article 6(1) of Greek Law 3959/2011, the HCC, by its decision, concluded that it does not raise serious concerns as to its compatibility with competition rules.

Previously, by its Decision no 859/2024 adopted on the 2nd of October 2024 and pursuant to Article 9 (3) of Greek Law 3959/2011, the HCC had granted GEK TERNA SA with a derogation from the implementation of the concentration, citing consumer welfare and public interest considerations.
