By its Decision No. 917/2026, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC), in Chamber sitting, unanimously approved, pursuant to the relevant provisions of the Greek Competition Act (Law 3959/2011), the acquisition of joint control over “TH. NITSIAKOS S.A.” by “PERUTNINA PTUJ D.O.O.”, on the one hand, and by the companies “ISTOS TOXOTIS SINGLE-MEMBER PC”, “ORITHEN MELORIA SINGLE-MEMBER PC” and “ΜΡΕ MARITHE SINGLE-MEMBER PC”, on the other, which already hold stakes in the share capital of the target-company.
The above concentration concerns the markets for the distribution of poultry meat, the production and marketing of animal feed (compound feed, single-ingredient feed, and premixes), and the wholesale supply of grains, of which the only affected market is the market for the distribution of poultry meat. The relevant geographic market in this case merger is defined as the entire Greek territory.
Considering the analysis of any horizontal and vertical effects resulting from the proposed concentration, the HCC concluded that, although it falls within the scope of Article 6(1) of Law 3959/2011, it will not bring about any significant changes to the conditions of competition in the relevant markets concerned and, therefore, it does not raise concerns as to its compatibility with the requirements of effective competition in the individual markets concerned in the Greek territory.
