On November 3, 2025 the Hellenic Competition Commission adopted Decision No. 892/2025, pursuant to Article 8(3) of Law 3959/2011, approving the concentration involving the acquisition of sole control by “GENERALI HELLAS INSURANCE COMPANY S.A.” over “GENERAL CLINIC, DIAGNOSTIC THERAPEUTIC SURGICAL CENTER – EUROCLINIC ATHENS S.A.”, within the meaning of Article 5(2)(b) of Law 3959/2011.
The above concentration concerns the relevant markets of private health insurance services and private healthcare services – diagnostic centers, where vertical relationships exist between the activities of the companies involved in the transaction.
Taking into account the small market shares of the participating companies, the Competition Commission concluded that although the transaction falls within the scope of Article 6(1) of Law 3959/2011, it does not alter competitive conditions. Therefore, the concentration under review does not raise serious concerns as to its compatibility with the requirements of competition in the relevant markets in which the participating companies operate.
