The Hellenic Competition Commission embarks on the multi-country project entitled “Supporting Digital Transformation in Competition Law Enforcement,” which aims at strengthening the capacities of national competition authorities in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and big data.

The project is implemented with the support of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition (DG Competition), EU-funded as part of the Technical Support Instrument (TSI) and managed by the European Commission's Reform and Investment Task Force (SG Reform).

This is an important multilateral cooperation between 15 EU member states, with the following key objectives:

• Strengthening the skills and technical training of competition authorities on the use of AI and data analysis tools to support investigative procedures,
• Facilitating the exchange of experience and know-how between participating authorities,
• Monitoring technological developments in the field of AI and enhancing digital readiness.

The HCC's participation in this initiative is expected to significantly enhance its investigative capacity, strengthening its role in an increasingly digitalised economic environment.

The ΗCC is pleased to participate in the project together with the competition authorities of the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Belgium, and Slovenia. 

The project is part of the Competition Commission's strategic plan to improve its technological capabilities, promote innovative tools for enforcing competition law, and ensure its institutional readiness for future challenges.
